2nds win at Armagh

The 2nd XV travelled to face Armagh 3rds for what turned out to be a feast of running rugby in perfect conditions at The Palace Grounds. The big physical home side started strongly, scoring tries in the opening minutes but this young Grosvenor side fought their way back into the game, scoring two tries of their own to leave the score 17-14 to Armagh at the break.

The second half belonged to Grosvenor who ran in three converted tries from deep in their own half, displaying great handling and blistering pace in the process. Armagh claimed a consolation try at the end to leave the score 35-24 to Grosvenor.

There were stand out performances from Fitzsimmons, Burrows and Baird up front while Farquhar, Johnston and Brown caught the eye in the backs, however this weeks FinTrU's Player of the Week goes to winger Jamie McNeight who was superb in both defence and attack, scoring two tries and setting up a third.

'D*ck of the Day' goes to prop James Bowman for his deft cross-field chip, straight into the arms of a surprised Armagh player who then hared off upfield.
